You will still need to know the voltage your pump is supplied with, even if it says 115/230v as your replacement will need to be switched to your supply voltage, the voltage is not automatically selected.

Most Inground pool pumps operate on 230 volts and are hardwired. Most above ground pool pumps are 115 volts and plug into a regular external 115 volt socket, some however may be hardwired.

If you don't have a readable legible label, then let's determine your pump from the questions below.

Q. Is your pool above ground or inground , do you jump in or climb in !

Q What voltage is your current pump supplied with ,if the circuit breaker feeding your pump or your pump timer is a double pole then your pump is 230 volts and hardwired. If the breaker is a single pole then your pump is 115 volts and most likely plugged in and not hardwired. There are however some 115 volt pumps hardwired on older inground pools. If in doubt measure the voltage or if you are not competent to do so have someone that is.

 

Q. Is it Hardwired or Plugged into a regular power output socket?

Q. What is the Horse Power of your current pump, most range from 0.75 HP to 2 HP

Q. What size is your Piping is it 1.5 inch or 2 inch ? fat or skinny.

Older pools over 25-30 years will have 1.5 inch piping, later pool will be 2 inch, even later pools have 2.5 inch but they are in the minority at this time.

Most new pumps still come with

1.5 inch fittings, we have 2 inch conversions available at a nominal fee of $13.
